David Chambliss, instructor of percussion, received the Bachelor of Music degree from Virginia State University and the Masters degree from Ohio State University in percussion pedagogy and performance.
Chambliss, a member of the adjunct faculty of Virginia State University, teaches applied lessons, chamber ensemble and master classes. He is director of the VSU Percussion Ensemble and the technical advisor and instructor for the VSU marching percussion unit. Additionally, he is the principal percussionist for the Petersburg Symphony Orchestra.
For numerous years, Chambliss has served as clinician, adjudicator, master musician and instructor in the music department of Virginia State University.
